Design Innovation Intern at LG Electronics North America

Description: This presentation highlights the work I completed during my Summer 2024 internship as a Design Innovation Intern. I was given the opportunity to develop a new design direction for ovens, with a focus on expanding LG’s existing market. Recognizing that LG Home Appliances primarily targets Millennial and Gen X consumers, I proposed a compact oven line tailored to Gen Z. This concept explores how shifting aesthetics, functionality, and lifestyle preferences can inform product design for a younger audience.

Life Soft Research (LSR)/Customer Insight Intern at LG Electronics North America

This presentation reflects the work I undertook during my Summer 2025 internship as a Customer Insight Intern on the Life Soft Research (LSR) team at LG. This internship experience allowed me to leverage my prior experience in Design Innovation to foster a strong interest in consumer behavior and market research, particularly in understanding how consumer needs inform product development.

Throughout this internship, I conducted qualitative and quantitative research to understand the evolution of consumer needs as consumers move from multi-door to single-door ovens. This involved understanding historical trends in appliances, as well as conducting surveys and interviews to understand how consumer needs are changing in response to intergenerational preferences.

This presentation reflects my entire research journey, including how it informed potential strategic opportunities related to product development.
